How do I know if I'm a good fit for Educational Therapy?

Below are some answers to frequently asked questions.

What is Educational Therapy?

Educational Therapy is when a trained professional works one-on-one with your child to teach him or her the skills he or she needs to be successful in school.

Who benefits from this?

Any student who is struggling in school because his/her needs are not being met in the classroom could benefit from educational therapy.

How is Educational Therapy different from tutoring?

A tutor focuses on homework help, generally for a specific subject, with the goal being to improve a grade in a class. An educational therapist creates her own lessons with the goal of developing essential educational skills that the student will use in all academic subjects.

How long does it take to see results?

It is highly recommended that clients meet with an ET for a minimum of twice a week, with each session being 50 minutes long. The length of time entirely depends on the nature of the client's challenges and his or her response to the strategies being taught.
